Siege of the Alamo - Day 12 - A Line in the Sand

The twelfth day of the siege - March 5 - saw the Centralists under Santa Anna making preparations for the final assault. The Texians in the Alamo received news that no reinforcements are coming. The men of the garrison had a choice to make. Did Travis draw a line in the sand to present them with that choice? We explore the origins of the Line in the Sand.

A million thanks to James Boddie for permission to use his fantastic 3D renderings of the Alamo compound. All gratitude to my friend and military historian/artist, Gary Zaboly, for his decades of wonderful work on the Alamo. Without the fabulous art produced by these gentlemen, my telling of the story would be flat and lifeless.

The primary reference book for the details of the siege was that of COL. Alan Huffines. It is a must for any student of Texas history and may be purchased here: https://www.amazon.com/Blood-Noble-Men-Alan-Huffines/dp/157168892
