Santa Anna came to power eleven different times, and in various ways. Here’s a handy tool to help you determine whether or not he was President of Mexico during the time you’re interested in. Now’s a good time to mention that he was not El Presidente during the Texas Revolution. He may have been pulling the strings behind the curtain, but he was not president.
