How Texas Bought the Alamo Bible

In the 1880s, Texas acquired the Alamo Church from the Diocese. Shortly thereafter, the state bought the Victory or Death letter from the descendants of William Barret Travis for a pittance. His family Bible was less easily acquired and remained in limbo for more than a century.
